my scrap philosophy

I scrap for me. I would love to do every page and look at it saying "wow, I'm proud of that"...but sometimes pages get done and are just okay.....that's okay! I don't have perfect days everyday, I'm not a perfect mom all the time, and perfect wife...LOL, let's just say I'm no June Cleaver ;) And those last 10 pounds I lost keep finding their way back...life isn't perfect, and neither is every scrapbook page :)

Hi out there...I don't know if anyone is still there, but I am back at it and have moved my blog to https://thriftydoodads.blogspot.com/  This will reflect my current journey in crafting.  I still scrap, but more often I upcycle vintage items to holiday decor and ornaments.  The new blog is under my name I've been using for a while on eBay, Etsy, Instagram, and at the antique mall that we have a booth at.  I plan on doing tutorials on youtube and uploading them to my new blog...feel free to follow me there!  Nice to be back after 11 years (to be honest, I forgot where my blog was, and took me a minute to find it LOL!)

Final project...

Sadly, this is my final project as DT member at If It's Groovy :(  I have returned to the workforce after spending about 18 years as a SAHM, and had to resign knowing that I may not have as much time to scrap now :(  :O

Here is my final project.  Another layout from my wedding. I used a lot of "The Girls Paperie" mixed with some vintage buttons and vintage music from a hymnal type book :)

Thumbprinting

We had a "thumbprint" challenge over at If It's Groovy this month.

When I got our Family Fun magazine I tore this page out:

....what a great idea for my thumbprint! My only problem was I didn't have a page right now to add it to, so what I decided to do was make some of my own handmade printed paper. I just did it down opposite sides of two pieces of cardstock so I could use them for a future two page layout:

Well, that was fun, so then I decided to make a card that I can have on hand and just add a sentiment later:

 then a tag:

and last I had some scrap kraft paper on hand, and I did two 12 inch vines and fussy cut them out so that I can use them as borders:

It's so fun to make your own stuff :)
